Are You Going to Heaven?

The most important decision you can make in life, is "What do I do with Jesus?"  We pray that you will consider what the Bible says about how to get to Heaven.

1.  Recognize your condition.

Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."  No one is good enough to go to Heaven on his own merit.  No matter how much good we do, we still fall short.

2.  Realize the penalty for sin.

Romans 6:23a - "For the wages of sin is death..."

Just as there are wages for good, there is punishment for wrong.  The penalty for our sin is eternal death in a place called Hell.

3.  Recognize where sin came from.

Romans 5:12 - "Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned."

We have been born with a sin nature, which was passed down from Adam to every generation.

4.  Believe Jesus Christ died for you.

Romans 5:8 - "But God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Christ's great love for us was shown when He died on the cross to pay our sin debt.

5.  Repent of your sins.

Luke 13:3 - "I tell you, Nay; except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

Repentance towards God simply means we take ownership and accountability of our own sins.  We confess that we are a sinner before God, and ask for His forgiveness.

6.  Trust Jesus Christ alone as your Savior.

Romans 6:23b - "But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Romans 10:13 - "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Everlasting life is a gift purchased by the blood of Jesus and offered freely to those who call upon Him by faith.

7.  Claim God's promises for salvation.

Romans 10:9-10 - "That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shall be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and the with mouth confession is made unto salvation."

If you have read through this, and recognize your need to be saved, would you pray to God for salvation?  Pray to Him, confess your sins, repent of those things you have done, and believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as payment for your sins.  We pray that you will express personal faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior.

If you have made a decision to trust Christ as your Savior, we would like to hear from you.  Would you call, text, or visit us sometime?  We would love to help you on your journey with the Lord as newborn believer.
